Biography

Serene Koong is an Singer Songwrter who’s turned a part-time singing stint into a music career. She was approached by Funkie Monkies (FM) to release an album under FM in 2010.

“I finally took the leap of faith to pursue music fulltime as an artiste with Funkie Monkies Productions, under the mentorship of music veterans and Eric Ng. In 2010, my debut album titled 55:38:7 was released, comprising of 10 original compositions and I was greatly involved in the music arrangements as well,” said Serene. She won 2 awards and 4 nominations at the Singapore Hit Awards 2010, and Best Local Singer at the 5th Freshmusic Awards in 2011. Three songs from her debut album went topped the music charts across Singapore and Malaysia, and regionally – namely «明知我爱你», «恋爱女生都是羊» and «手中线» for local film “Love Cuts” starring celebrity actress Zoe Tay.
