Wong Kay Aik 王家毅
Listening to anything he can get his hands on, dabbling on instruments and vocal parts/harmonies
Kay has always loved the idea of penning his thoughts into melodies, and is glad to be able to do that as an FM-exclusive songwriter. A mostly self-taught musician, he has taught himself to play several instruments such as the guitar, bass, drums and the keyboard, as well as singing and songwriting. Kay’s journey in music started out as a music director in NTU Hall One’s STAR Productions from 2011 to 2014, having been tasked to write up to 40 original songs for original musicals, as well as producing, arranging, and coaching cast members. This experience proved invaluable as his work was selected as a finalist in the national 2015 Music Express Songwriting Competition and received positive feedback from professional judges. More recently, his original songs have been performed during the 2015 ASEAN Para Games Opening Ceremony in Singapore, delighting thousands of athletes and spectators alike. Kay is currently performing at several venues, and is continually finding ways to hone his songwriting and musical skills. Apart from music, Kay is an avid fan of soccer and running.
