Biography

JC is a songwriter, music producer, arranger, and vocalist from Singapore. Starting his musical journey at the age of 20, his love for music has been his primary drive and motivation which enabled him to pick up guitar, piano and music arrangement.

He attained his Degree in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry in NTU but ultimately decided to follow his dream of becoming a musician. In 2014, JC was signed to Funkie Monkies Publishing as an exclusive songwriter upon completing Funkie Monkies’ Hit Melody Composing course. In 2016, he was signed as a producer in the FM Production Team headed by local veteran producer Eric Ng, ⻩韵仁(人质, A*Mei 张惠妹/ 纸⻜机, Sandy Lam 林忆莲). Under the tutelage of Eric Ng, his clientele has expanded and now includes artistes from China and Taiwan (Andrew Tan 陈势安, Don Chu 朱兴东, Musou Band 无双乐团,  Freya Lim 林凡, Wallace Chung 钟汉良). He is also the vocalist of 《对手》”To Be A Better Me”, written by Eric Ng ⻩韵仁 and renowned lyricist Xiaohan 小寒 for the project “Stories We Sing”, a collection of commissioned songs by MOE, designed as a professional development resource for music teachers to be used in their classrooms.

JC is an up and coming Songwriter / Music producer who aims to shape the future of Singapore music-scape with his innovative music ideas and rejuvenate the local music scene.
